Eligibility: Minority students (including Hispanic/Latino and LGBTQ+) in Austin, Houston, or Dallas; top 20% of graduating class; minimum SAT 1100 or ACT 22; interest in law; U.S. citizen or a valid Social Security Number

Cost: Free – financial award + law firm internship opportunity

Notes: Specifically for students interested in law careers. Austin-based. Strong fit for students considering pre-law.

Hispanic Scholarship Consortium (HSC)

Organization:  Hispanic Scholarship Consortium

Deadline: Applications open March 2026 for 2026-27 academic year

Eligibility: Hispanic/Latino; Texas resident; 2.5 GPA minimum; graduating high school seniors and undergraduates; full or part-time enrollment in certificate, associate, or bachelor's program; U.S. citizenship not required

Cost: Free - renewable scholarships

Notes: Includes mentorship and leadership program beyond just financial aid. strong fit for first-generation students.

LULAC national Scholarship Fund 

League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC)

Deadline: Varies by local council-  lulac.org for Austin chapter

Eligibility:  Hispanic students; Must be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).; 3.5 GPA minimum; plans to enroll in a college or university degree program

Cost: Free - up to $2000 per award

Notes: Administered by local LULAC councils. Austin has an active council. Great for first- generation and need- based applicants.

Terry Foundation Freshman Scholarship

Organization: Terry Foundation

Deadline: Varies by school – awarded through partner universities including UT Austin and Texas State

Eligibility: Texas high school seniors with demonstrated financial need; plans to attend a Terry-affiliated Texas university; strong academic and character record; U.S. citizen or a Permanent Resident

Cost: Free – award covers tuition, room and board, and fees (near full-ride)

Notes: One of the most generous Texas scholarships. Awarded to students who would otherwise need loans. Renewable for 4 years.

Sallie $2,000 No-Essay Scholarship

Eligibility: For 16+ year olds in high school in any of the US territories who meet a minimum of one of the following requirements: a parent who currently has a child enrolled in an accredited college or university located within the United States;

  1. a student who is currently enrolled in an accredited college or university located within the United States;

  2. a parent who currently has a child enrolled as a high school senior or junior located within the United States;

  3. a student who is currently enrolled as a high school senior or junior who intends to enroll in an accredited college or university located within the United States, within a year of graduating high school (“Entrant”).

Cost: Free - this scholarship awards $2,000.

Kathy Pace Technology Scholarship

McDonald’s Black and Positively Golden Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Location:

    • U.S. citizen

    • Legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

  • Age: At least 18 years old or older 

  • Grade: enrolled full-time as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior

  • Requirements:

    • Current cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher

    • Must be able to demonstrate leadership abilities

    • Must be able to demonstrate a financial need

    • Attending an HBCU - a college or university that was originally founded to educate students of African American descent.

Cost (free or paid):

  • Free to apply - register on the website and fill in the information 

  • Funds in the range of up to $15,000

Notes:

  • The total eligible scholarship amount will be allocated in two installments: 

    • One during the fall 2026 semester 

    • The second is during the spring 2027 semester (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Coca-Cola Scholarship

  • Location: 

    • U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, U.S. Permanent Residents, Refugees, Asylees, Cuban-Haitian Entrants, or Humanitarian Parolees - based on guidelines utilized by the U.S. Department of Education for Federal Financial Aid Eligibility

    • Currently enrolled in one of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or DOD schools, who will graduate high school during the 2025-2026 academic school year.

  • Grade:

    • Graduated from high school during the 2025-2026 academic year.

  • Requirements:

    • able to verify a minimum overall B/3.0 GPA in high school coursework

    • Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. postsecondary institution. 

  • Not Eligible: 

    • High school graduates

    • Temporary Residents

    • Children or grandchildren of current employees, officers, or owners of Coca-Cola bottling companies, Company divisions, or subsidiaries. 

    • Children or grandchildren of former employees who are currently receiving retirement benefits based on their previous employment with Coca-Cola bottling companies, Company divisions, or subsidiaries.

  • The scholarships can offer up to 20,000 dollars

Eligibility: This scholarship is targeted towards Black high-school seniors.

Cost: Free - this scholarship offers full-tuition coverage.

Notes: Applicants must fit this criteria: Must reside in the Houston, TX, or Atlanta, GA metropolitan areas.

  • Must be a current-year graduating high school senior.

  • Must demonstrate leadership potential in the classroom and on campus.

  • Must have a GPA of at least 3.0.

  • Must have a minimum ACT score of 19 or a combined SAT score of 990.

  • Eligible individuals may enter the Contest by creating and wearing prom attire hand-made by the individual. This includes a complete dress or a complete tuxedo with appropriate accessories. 

  • Entrants must submit at least one photo of themselves in Prom Attire, which must be an original design and not previously awarded. 

  • Use of other materials is permitted, but any entry that duplicates or is based on third-party work requires permission. Assistance from friends and family is allowed, but professional help is not permitted.
